Fair Isle Crochet Coffee Cup Holder
This is my first project made in Fair Isle Crochet. I really like how it looks and it was easy to make. Below is a list of the materials I used and instructions to make it:
- 2 different colors of worsted weight yarn
- 4.25 mm crochet hook (G/6)
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch marker
Chain 42 and join with slip stitch.
Round 1: with color A, make 1 sc in every chain. Place a stitch marker and continue on the round, moving the marker up at the end of each round. 42 sc.
Round 2: 1 sc in every sc back loop only.
Rounds 3 to 8: Follow the chart below interchanging colors as directed, working 1 sc in each sc, back loop only. Start from right to left if you are right handed, and left to right if left handed.
Round 9: With color B (1 sc in each of the next 20 stitches. 2 sc in the next stitch) twice, continuing to work in the back loop only. 44 sc.
Round 10: (1sc in each of the next 21 sc. 2 sc in the next stitch) twice. Back loop only. 46 sc.
Round 11: 1 sc in each sc. back loop only. Join with slip stitch. Fasten off.
Weave in ends.
As you might have noticed in the picture, I was carrying the color I was not using at the back of each stitch. This is recommended so your Fair Isle work does not get caught and broken. If I had done a good job carrying the yarn, it would not have been visible in my last 3 rounds of color work.

Enjoy!
